vodka, ruins, and a strange calm in the mountains

so here i am in this little town tucked into the mountains of north ossetia-alania. honestly, i didn't even know this place existed until a local in vladikavkaz told me it's "the quiet before the storm" of the caucasus. the weather right now is like someone left a cold damp towel over the whole town-temp's hovering around 6.8°c, humidity at 82%, and you can feel the chill in your bones even indoors. i just checked and it's chilly, grey, and quiet right now, hope you like that kind of thing.
