wandering through the weird heat of an unknown town
it started with a random string of numbers that meant nothing to me, but somehow they led me here. the air is thick, like walking through warm soup, and my phone says it's 26.47°c but feels like 26.47°c, so basically it's just sweaty. humidity's at 70%, pressure 1009, and i'm not even sure what that means except my shirt is sticking to me in all the wrong places.
i'm not even sure what city this is, but the vibe is somewhere between forgotten and quietly alive. the streets are narrow, the buildings old enough to have stories but not old enough to be charming. i keep thinking i'll find a cafe, but every place looks like it's been closed for years or is about to close in five minutes.
overheard from a guy at the bus stop: "best coffee's at the place with no sign." so of course i spent 20 minutes looking for a place with no sign and found nothing. maybe it's a metaphor. maybe it's just bad directions.
anyway, here's a map because why not:
and since i'm here, might as well show you what it looks like. or what unsplash thinks it looks like:
if you get bored, nearby places like [cityname1] and [cityname2] are just a short drive away, but honestly, i'm not even sure i want to leave yet. there's something about being slightly lost that feels right today.
i just checked and it's still hot as hell there right now, hope you like that kind of thing.
want more? check out TripAdvisor or Yelp for whatever this place actually is. or don't. i'm not your boss.
