sibiu, romania: where the cobblestones ate my lunch money

so yeah, sibiu happened. again. let me tell you about this place where my drumsticks feel more at home than i do. just pulled up the weather app and it's... that damp cold that seeps into your bones, so maybe bring a hoodie if you're fancy.

wandering these streets feels like deciphering some ancient code written by hangry pigeons. *the citadel walls are cool though - they're basically medieval mood lighting. if you run out of things to do, brasov and cluj are just a short drive away when the locals stop giving you directions that lead you to cabbage fields.

heard this gem while nursing a suspiciously cheap coffee:

ā€œthat tower? yeah, they say the ghost drummer still plays triplets at 3am sharp. bring earplugs.ā€

and from some drunk dude at the piața mare:

ā€œavoid the pork knuckle joint near the pharmacy unless you wanna see your future in gravy.ā€

someone told me the best ciorba is at hanul gurii but the owner gives side-eye to anyone who asks for drumming tips. fair enough.
the bridge of lies* is literally just a bridge but the vibes are immaculate - perfect for tuning your toms while tourists judge your life choices.

Village nestled in a misty, forested mountain landscape.

i swear the astronomical clock has been mocking my timing for days. pro tip: if you hit the bell at the exact moment it chimes, the city owes you a beer. don't tell them i sent you though.
