Quetta: where the street art meets the mountains
okay so quetta, man. where do i even start? i rolled in here with a backpack full of spray cans and a dream, and the mountains are literally just *there, like they're the backdrop for every single mural. i set up my easel (which is just a wooden board on a tripod) and started sketching. the locals are curious, but mostly cool.
i just checked the app and it's feeling like a sweater-weather kinda day, hope you packed one. if you're done with quetta, you can hop in a rickshaw and be in zhob in a few hours, or maybe even quetta bazaar is just around the corner for some different vibes.
the quetta bazaar is a maze of colors and smells. someone told me that the best spices are sold by this one old guy who never smiles, but his saffron is the real deal. just ask for the guy with the missing tooth. i heard that the cops here are pretty chill about street art, but don't even think about tagging the government buildings. they will not have it.
for paint and brushes, you gotta hit up saddar*. there's this one shop called "artist's paradise" that has everything, but the owner is a grump. just nod and smile and you'll be fine.
for more info on quetta, check out the travel guide on tripadvisor. if you need a place to crash, levina hotel is decent. and for a bite, cafe 88 has decent tea. for local news, quetta live is your go-to. peace out, i gotta go find a wall.
