philadelphia nightcap: drunks, drizzle, and cheap eats
i just checked and it's...that foggy chill, there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. the *rain has a way of turning the cobblestones into shiny mirrors, and i’m here for it. just wandered into a tiny cheese shop that smells like nostalgia, and the owner swore the pretzel across the street is cursed in a good way. reading terminal market is meant for the crowds, but if you slip into the back alley you’ll find a mural that looks like a ghost painting. someone told me that the speakeasy behind the gallery only opens when the clock strikes thirteen, and i heard that the best pretzel vendor sets up near the river at dusk. if you get restless, other spots are just a short drive away.
someday i’ll write a post about the cobblestones that whisper stories, but for now i’m just sipping cheap coffee and watching the rain dance on the river. you should try* the local brew at the hidden spot. check out this local board for impromptu jam sessions: philly underground. it’s wild how the city feels both endless and tiny at the same time.
