Peccioli's Painted Secrets: A Street Artist's Tuscan Tangent

i landed in this corner of tuscany chasing ghosts-or maybe just numbers. 3174659 and 1380159305 were scrawled on a crumbling factory wall near the train tracks, like some cryptic invitation. turned out they were locker codes at the station. who knew? art’s everywhere if you squint hard enough.

heard the numbers are part of a scavenger hunt for a mural by ‘the tuscan ghost’. prize is a lifetime supply of cheap wine and existential dread. worth it?

the air’s got that damp chill that seeps into your bones-13.87 degrees technically, but feels like 13.45. if you’re coming, bring a scarf. hope you like that kind of thing.

peccioli’s vibe is... sleepy. but it’s got hidden layers. like the abandoned water treatment plant i turned into a pop-up gallery. locals called it ‘the blue lagoon’. i just saw free walls. someone told me the mayor hates street art but secretly commissioned half the tags downtown. conspiracy fuel for sure.

that muralist from florence? sleeps in his van behind the cemetery. leaves paint cans for the taking. take what you need, leave what you can.

if your fingers get cramped from spraying, florence’s tag scene is an hour north. pisa’s closer, but their ‘street art’ is mostly tourist traps. stick to peccioli’s back alleys.

here’s where the magic (and the numbers) live:

and some snapshots of the chaos:

aerial photography of city

brown concrete building near body of water during daytime

a large body of water with a bunch of boats in it

also peeped some local gossip: the *panificio rossi supposedly bakes bread so good it’ll make you question life choices. tried it. they weren’t lying. and for gear, this hardware store has spray cans cheaper than anywhere. shoutout to the station cafe*-their espresso keeps the ghosts at bay. peep the town’s art spots here. wild ride, y’all.
