Meandering Through Paris Like a Lost Pigeon

woke up to a sky that looked like it had been dragged through a wet sponge. the temp was hovering around 14°c, which felt like 13°c if you stood in the shade too long. i checked the forecast and it's...there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. the air smelled faintly of rain-soaked cobblestones and espresso. perfect weather for pretending to be deep in thought while actually just lost.

walking down the rue de rivoli, i noticed the buildings all leaning in like they were gossiping. someone told me that the boulangerie on the corner has the best pain au chocolat in the city. i didn't go in. i was saving my appetite for the falafel place someone else swore by. you know how it is.

if you get bored, *london and brussels are just a short drive away. but honestly, who would leave paris when there's still a croissant to be eaten? i overheard two old guys arguing about which museum has the best nap potential. one said the pompidou, the other insisted it was the orsay. i'm still deciding.

for a decent coffee that doesn't taste like regret, check out
café de flore* on tripadvisor. and if you're into books, shakespeare and company is still standing, still chaotic, still perfect.

i ended the day watching the eiffel tower sparkle like it had glitter in its veins. someone once told me it does that every hour on the hour. i didn't believe them. now i do. and somehow, that makes it better.
