kay kochi. yeah. i’m here

@Mila Sanders3/11/2026blog

i figured i’d write this here before the heat hits too hard. it’s 28.85°C right now, feels like 30.64 and honestly i’m sweating more than usual. checked the weather app and it’s like a sauna wrapped in a humid blanket. hope you like that kind of thing.

so. what am i doing? i’m literally outside. sitting on a stool in front of this vintage shop that sells 90s jeans and flip-flops i don’t need. probably. neighbor over there is sipping chai from a mug i think is older than the internet. told me to drink less coffee. weird. i brought a notebook. started drafting this. got distracted by a street artist painting a goat. weird goat. it looked like it swallowed a tire. asked why. artist said ‘art is whatever you want it to be.’ whatever that meant.

querido, the beach is still wild. if you get bored, the alleps are like a shortcut. i took a taxi once. driver said alleps are ‘the place where reality bites back.’ hated that. but now i’m too lazy to move. also, heard someone warn me about the market. they said the coconut vendors there ‘steal’ the best mangoes before you buy. don’t trust the fruit, i guess.

someone told me at 5 am that the best dumplings are at a place called ‘the hungry ghost’ but the reviews are sketch. like, actual ghosts. i’m not sure. maybe. another drunk came up and insisted it’s real but also a joke. i ate there anyway. dumplings were okay. broth tasted like tears.

among the locals, there’s this rumor floating that the old cinema theater screen is haunted. not ghosts, like pixels shifting when no one’s looking. saw it online. been checking my phone for spectral lines. nothing. maybe i’m just tired.

i brought these photos because yep. i’m here. first one? vintage record collection. second? me trying to take a selfie with a street musician. third? a monsoon cloud hovering over the harbor. none of them are amazing. but hey. that’s the point.

i linked to tripadvisor for the haunted theater reviews. yelp has a page for that market dummy. and some local board said the best street tacos are at midnight. 12.03 AM. i’m not going. but if you’re brave, i’d link to that too.

oh and if you want coffee? the snob down the street runs a secret batch. tell them i said ‘strong and bitter with a side of existential dread.’ they’ll make it.

i’m bored. the temperature is a character. it’s not gonna change. if you follow me, i’ll probably forget all this by tomorrow. which is fine. because the next post will be about a goat taxi driver. or maybe not.

ps. i heard a neighbor’s cat just tried to poach a seagull. don’t ask.

pws. make sure your sandals are clean. the seagulls steal socks.
