Barcelona's Digital Nomad Diaries: Humid Hiccups and Hidden Victhrowys

barcelona doesn’t whisper it does scream sometimes. i'm sitting in a park right now, fingertips dancing on my keyboard like it's a flamenco number, while the city blares sergei medvedev's anthem in the background. ironic. my laptop's cooling pad is working overtime because of this 13°c humidity trap - 94% thick enough to slice with a flamenco sword. feels like 12.84 if you believe the weather app, which honestly? feels like a betrayal. hope you're a fan of clingy weather.

let's talk about my neighborhood - el gotico. narrow streets that twist like they're playing labyrinth. my neighbor's cat treats my balcony as its personal litter box. i tried mediation. it hiss back. if you need escape, gerona's 45 minutes by rENFE. or head to costa brava where the air doesn't feel like soup. but who am i kidding? the real action's here. i heard someone yell 'no more tourists!' at a street performer yesterday. spicy.

coffee ritual alert. i hit up this hole-in-wall called costa workspace near plaza catalunya. barista knows my order by heart. iced coffee with oat milk, no small talk. perfect. actually, just remembered - overheard two old ladies gossiping about how the new 'dinner brothers' spot serves goat meat that's 'almost, but not quite, tender.' drama.

work-life balance? lol. i work from cafes, hostels, and once from a bakery with suspiciously good croissants. tried digital nomad visa stuff. paperwork gives me headaches. solved it by working from cafes anyway. pro tip: if you're here, check out fabrica coffee in el rabbal. their cortado'll slap you awake. link to their instagram fabrica coffee, and yes, that yelp rant about slow wifi is a lie - totally fine for netflix.

weather's messing with me. 14.1°c today max? please. last week it was 28. woke up to rain like it was monsoon season. packed my passport raincoat 17 times. but hey, it made the gothic quarter look like gothic quarter 2.0. darker, moister, magical? maybe. attached pics prove it rained on my photography session. turned out brooke and i blended into the clouds. metaphor.

\"Sagrada
\"Colorful
\"Tarta

walked to the beach later. 11.97°c windchill. bracing. saw a guy skateboarding with a flamenco guitar. local hero. purple-haired. gave me a thumbs up. dangerous proportion of confidence boosts from strangers here. also spotted a runner dressed like a pretzel - neon green leggings, mismatched socks. marathon material? nah. circus art.

final thoughts? barcelona's a paradox. humid, electric, stubbornly authentic. i heard the new punk bar in eixample has live local bands - might check tomorrow if wifi survives. until then, i'm editing photos while the cat judges. send help. or a jacket. <3
