a sweaty, chaotic day in the middle of nowhere

so here i am, typing this from a hammock strung between two palm trees, sweating like a sinner in church. the weather’s a muggy 24.75°C, but feels like 25.5°c because the humidity is at 85% and my shirt is glued to my back. i just checked and it's... there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. if you get bored, [cities] are just a short drive away, but honestly, why would you leave this sticky paradise?

i heard that the local bakery makes the best coconut bread in the region, but someone told me that the baker’s cat sometimes naps on the dough. not sure if that’s a selling point or a dealbreaker. anyway, i grabbed a loaf and it was still warm, so i’m calling it a win.

walking around town feels like stepping into a postcard that’s been left in the sun too long. the colors are faded, the paint is peeling, but there’s something charming about it. i asked a guy selling mangoes on the corner if there’s anything to do here, and he just laughed and said, “you’re doing it.” fair enough.

“if you want excitement, go to the city,” he said. “here, we have mangoes and time.”

i spent the afternoon at the beach, which is more of a glorified sandbar, but the water is warm and the waves are lazy. perfect for floating around and pretending i’m not thinking about work. there’s a small shack selling grilled fish, and i overheard someone say the owner once caught a shark with his bare hands. i’m not sure if that’s true, but the fish tacos are legit.

if you’re into slow travel, this place is your jam. no wifi, no rush, just the sound of waves and the occasional rooster crowing at 3am. i’m not even mad about it. well, maybe a little. but it’s the kind of place that makes you forget what day it is, and honestly, that’s a gift.

for more info on the area, check out TripAdvisor or Yelp. and if you’re feeling adventurous, this local blog has some hidden gems worth exploring.

anyway, i’m off to find some shade and maybe a cold drink. or two. or three. catch you on the flip side.
