A Drummer's Haphazard Tour of Libreville
i gotta say, libreville is a trip.
it's got that sticky 25-degree weather that makes you question every life choice. but hey, at least it's not raining. yet.
so i'm here, lugging my drums from one gig to another, trying to make a buck or two. the locals are chill, always ready with a smile and a story. speaking of, i overheard this gem at a bar last night:
"if you're looking for a good time, avoid the fancy hotel. it's all glitz and no grit."
ummings the guys nursing his beer.
in between sets, i've been exploring the city. it's a maze of streets and alleys, each one promising something new. *pro-tip:* always keep a map handy. you never know when you'll need to make a quick getaway from a dicey situation. or a bad gig.
the food here is something else. it's like the city's heartbeat, always pumping, always sizzling. i had some street food that made me question everything i knew about flavor. in a good way, of course.
but if you're ever in libreville and need a break from the chaos, i heard these spots are worth checking out. just don't be surprised if you find yourself in the middle of a drum circle. it's how we roll here.
and if you get bored, port-gentil is just a short drive away. but trust me, you won't. libreville has a way of getting under your skin. like a tattoo you never knew you wanted.
