manila: where the heat is as intense as the wifi struggles

okay, so i’ve been in manila for a bit now, and wow, it’s been a ride. first off, the weather is no joke - i just checked and it’s 30.83°C and feels like 33.35°C, so if you're into that sticky heat, you'll feel right at home. honestly, it’s the kind of weather that makes you question why you ever left air-conditioned spaces. but hey, that’s the tropics for ya.

the city is buzzing, and if you're feeling antsy, neighboring spots like makati and quezon city are just a quick hop away. i’ve been hopping around, working from different cafes, and let me tell you, the struggle for a decent wifi connection is real. but that’s part of the adventure, right?

now, i heard from a local that the best street food is found in the alleys near binondo. someone told me that the kwek-kwek and isaw there are life-changing, but also warned me to watch out for the ones that look too good to be true. also, i overheard at a bar that the sunken garden in the university of santo tomas is hidden gem for a peaceful break from the chaos.

for food, you gotta try Jollibee, it's the filipino equivalent of mcdonald's but way better. and for a real dive into history, check out Intramuros. also, i found this cool guide on Yelp for things to do. and for more tips, check out Manila Travel Guide.

so yeah, manila is a city of contrasts - the heat, the chaos, the food, the people. i’ve been taking photos of everything, from the colorful jeepneys to the sunset over the bay. sometimes it’s overwhelming, but that’s what keeps me coming back.

if you're a digital nomad like me, just pack your patience and a good power bank. and maybe an extra shirt, because you’ll sweat. a lot.
