why i jumped off a train in dresden to find a sausage that wasn’t overcooked
woke up at 4am still tying my shoes to a ladder because i forgot i left shoes in munich. took the s3 train to dresden because the app kept suggesting ‘scenic routes’ that ended at a crematorium. first thing i saw was a man eating a sausage wrapped in newspaper. real writer vibes. asked him if he’d seen any unsung street food gems. he screamed, ‘FIND THE MARKT PLACE!’ which i did, but it was like a maze made by a blind hamster. ended up in a place called zwickau market where a guy in a apron made sausage out of meat and regret. he said it was ‘dresdner sausage’ which i didn’t hear a word of english from except that phrase. cost 3 euros. lamb roasted on a coal fire. i smiled so hard my face hurt. now i’m here with a stomach full of discord and a story to tell.
