tranquil chaos in lyons: a digital nomad’s guide to surviving french weather and weirdly friendly neighbors
so last week i woke up to a text from my laptop saying ‘your flight is tomorrow’ and immediately panicked because i forgot to pack anything. worked from a park bench near the royale’lloy castle, which is like a giant stone mansion that probably has more secrets than the enigma. the weather here is a vibe, you know? i just checked the temp and it’s 11.06 degrees, which means i can either freeze my toes or sweat through my linen shirts. i’m in the middle. practical chaos, right?
the neighbors? well, if you ask the old man who sells crepes at 8am, he’ll tell you they’re all just people trying not to starve. one woman next door once called my rusty unicycle ‘a work of art’ while i was wheeling it past. she was very serious. i think she still thinks it’s depressing. but hey, at least the coffee shops are open until 3am. like, chromed out coffee, not that fancy latte nonsense. i’ll take a burnt espresso any day.
