Tel Aviv Diaries: When the Weather's a Mood Swinger
it's a bit damp out there, but that's tel aviv for you. i just checked and it's...there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. 11.31 degrees, feels like 10.72, humidity at 85%, pressure at 1011. basically, it's the kind of day that makes you want to curl up with a book or find the nearest air-conditioned cafe. if you get bored, a coastal town with fish markets and a mountain village with ancient ruins are just a short drive away. someone told me that the famous bakery is actually a tourist trap, but i heard the little cafe down the alley has the best pastries. i'm not sure who to believe, but i'm definitely going to check it out myself. *fish markets are always a sensory overload, and ancient ruins whisper stories if you listen close enough. local boards are buzzing with rumors about a new pop-up gallery opening near the port. i've seen some overheard gossip about a hidden speakeasy tucked away in a basement on a side street. tripadvisor says the old port area is a must, but yelp reviewers are mixed on the new rooftop bar. google maps link: map of tel aviv. unsplash* images: street art, seaside view, cafe interior.
