nice isn’t what they show in the tourist photos (unless you squint). today was either a really warm snap or i forgot my hat (or my common sense). 10.91c feels like 9.7c if you’re scrambling through markets like a student avoiding rent payments. other highlights? the street art on calle joyeuse. someone told me it’s real, not a stencil job. nooove.

quick answers:
q: is this place worth visiting? a: yes, but only if you’re okay sharing a margarita with strangers who think 7pm is happy hour. beer’s cooler here anyway.

q: is it expensive? a: slightly. esso (yes, there’s a way to say gas station that weird) sells water for 1.50. i could’ve chorused with the waves but i didn’t.

q: who’d hate it here? a: claustrophobes. also people who don’t like walking up four flights of stairs awkwardly.

q: best time to visit? a: spring or fall. summer crowds make the petite fahrenée feel like a nacho libre scene with less maria.

buying a €1 pastel next to a graffiti-tagged wall reminds you that this city’s weirdness is baked into its bones. the narrow alleys ache with history but don’t bend for your 3rd latte. a local once said the cafés here have better sound systems than a club-true. i debated lounging at rapidly but went with café du port instead. phone battery shame.

quick wins:
- spécano: 20 mins to shop till u cry (or at least till credit card declines)
- avoid the château if you hate stairs (387 if you’re counting)
- the flower market outside the-opéra closes after noon unless you like bonking into stalls

quick answers part 2:
q: any hidden gems? a: the jussieu park steps hide a patch of stairs with (cheesy) graffiti murals. tagged with random degrees of freedom.

q: cheapest eats? a: wildes isn’t a typo. find the takeaway kiosk by the boats-eat like a local for 2€

weather vibes: 10.91c and non-negotiable. feels like urban sprawl if the city were a sweaty teen. pressure’s low enough to make you question your life choices, but humidity keeps you sweaty enough to not notice.

italy’s an adverb away. aces, someone linked a map somewhere? 🗺️
