mysticville’s morning fog and why i’m still here

i woke up to the sound of rain and a fridge that smells like old socks. it’s 17 degrees here, which is like someone spilled a bucket of water on your soul. don’t ask how i know that-i found out by accident. i just checked and it's...there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. 94% humidity means your skin is doing a slow-motion dance to stay dry. if you get bored, the old town is just a short drive-maybe grab a coffee from that place i heard about on yelp. i heard that story from a guy at a café who claimed the local bread is so stale it’s a metaphor for life. don’t trust him. probably.

i took a photo of a puddle reflecting the streetlights and it looked like a giant’s footprint. another pic shows a dusty hat next to a coffee cup-total aesthetic. someone told me the Wi-Fi here is slower than a sloth’s breakfast, and i believed them until i tried. tripadvisor says this place is a hidden gem, but yelp warns about the noise. i saw a sign for atexttted temple and thought it was a prank. turns out it’s real. maybe.

Abstract artwork of a distressed coat with embedded objects.
A cluttered alley with colorful graffiti.
A person walking through a misty street.

i don’t know if i’m exaggerating, but this place feels like it’s holding its breath. maybe that’s the point. if you’re here, you’re either brave or very bored. either way, it’s not like you have much else to do.
