My Weird Night in a Town I Can't Pronounce
okay so i ended up in this random place last night and honestly i’m still not sure how i got here. the numbers 1295765 and 1104261097 were scribbled on a napkin in my pocket when i woke up. maybe coordinates? maybe a glitch in the matrix? who knows.
anyway, the weather was wild. temp was 24.28°C but it felt like 24.72℃, humidity was 75%, and the air pressure was sitting at 1009. basically, it was the kind of night where you sweat through your shirt but pretend you’re just “radiating energy.” i just checked and it’s...still like that right now, hope you like that kind of thing.
*the people here were...interesting. overheard a group at the corner store saying the town used to be a smuggling hub back in the 70s. someone told me that the old train station is haunted by a guy who got stuck in the ticket booth during a flood. i didn’t fact-check any of it, but that’s half the fun.
if you get bored, mandalay and bago are just a short drive away. or so i’ve heard. i didn’t go, but a drunk guy at the bar swore they were “like, 45 minutes tops.”
food tip: the street vendor on main street (no sign, just follow the smell of garlic and regret) has the best noodles i’ve ever had. cost me like $1.50 and i’m still thinking about it. check out yelp for more local eats, but honestly, just wander.
random advice:* bring cash. no one here takes cards, and the ATMs are either broken or guarded by a very suspicious cat.
this whole trip felt like a fever dream, but in the best way. would i come back? probably. would i remember why i came in the first place? absolutely not.
for more weird travel stories, check out tripadvisor or just get lost somewhere and see what happens.
