Midnight Sketches in Cairo

@Adrian Cole3/7/2026blog

i just landed in cairo and the air feels like a warm hug. i just checked and it's sizzling like a grill there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. if you feel restless, those nearby villages are just a short drive away.

*spray cans in hand i wander the souk alleys where the scent of koshary drifts from street stalls. someone told me that the alley behind the souk hides a mural that changes colors at sunset. i snagged a shot of that glow and it felt like the whole city whispered back.

i popped into a tiny
caffè that serves coffee stronger than my morning coffee, and the barista shouted “welcome!” in a way that made my heart do a double‑take. the vibe is raw, the walls are covered in tags, and the locals keep handing out free Wi‑Fi* flyers like they're postcards.

i’m still wandering, but the city’s pulse is louder than any drumline. if you want a break, the old market across the river is a quick walk away. for a deeper dive, check out the Egyptian Museum on TripAdvisor or the Khan el-Khalili Reviews on Yelp. the Cairo Street Art Tour on Local Board pops up on my feed daily, and i’m half‑tempted to follow the map to the next hidden courtyard.

i just checked and it's sizzling like a grill there right now, hope you like that kind of thing.
