mashhad: where the walls whisper and the paint talks
just landed in mashhad with paint-stained fingers and zero sleep. my flight was delayed, my bags are lost, but the *city's got this raw energy that slaps you awake. i just checked and it’s basically a frozen tundra out there, hope you packed thermals. these winds cut through you like bad street art criticism.
if you get bored, torbateheydariyeh and neishabur are just a short drive away. heard they’ve got less tourist traps and more real-deal weirdness. perfect for a wandering brush like me.

tried sketching near the Imam Reza complex but got chased by security. apparently, religious sites + spray paint = no bueno. found this hidden alley though - crumbling walls begging for color. the locals here don’t smile much, but their buildings scream stories.

found a hole-in-the-wall joint near Chahar Bagh. owner gave me free tea and yelled at me for using too much garlic. felt like home. check out the Bazaar-e Reza - it’s sensory overload in the best way. avoid the fancy rug shops unless you wanna spend your life savings.
gonna try tagging the old aqueduct* at dawn. if i disappear, tell my mom i loved the saffron here. also, mashhad’s art scene is underrated. these streets are a canvas, and i’m here to vandalize them with meaning.
