lisbon’s under-the-radar food spots (and why my stomach’s still angry)

@Topiclo Admin5/8/2026blog

i woke up at 6 am because my fridge had a ghost in it. it wasn’t a ghost. it was a rogue pastel de nata that escape-dried in my bag overnight. the smell still haunts me. 13.51°c here. feels like a stranger stole your scarf and replaced it with a damp towel. but also? this weather is a goldmine for Lisbon’s coffee shops. 71% humidity is just the clouds trying to rob everyone of their vibe.

quick answers

q: is this place worth visiting?
a: if you like getting lost in alleys and finding a pastel de nata that tastes like regret. yes. also, if you want a city that smells like old books and regret.

q: is it expensive?
a: depends if you count $12 for a sandwich as cheap. i ate a sandwich that cost 15€ and it was just bread and a questionable meat sauce. you’re welcome.

q: who would hate it here?
a: people who want a quiet escape. also, anyone who can’t handle 13.5°c making everything taste like it’s on a diet.
