Kosovo's Hidden Corners: A Wandering Photographer's Tale

the air felt like autumn had already moved in for good. i just checked and it's 11.94°C there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. i had no real plan when i landed, just a camera and a vague sense of direction. the kind of trip where you follow the light and see where it takes you.

first stop was pristina, but i wasn't there for the usual tourist traps. i heard from a barista that the old bazaar near the clock tower is where the real stories are. she said, "go early, before the tourists wake up." sounded like good advice.

from there, i wandered into the national library. people either love it or hate it. i heard a couple arguing about it outside - one called it a "concrete monster," the other said it was "brutalist poetry." i just took photos and let them debate.

if you get bored, skopje and podgorica are just a short drive away. but honestly, i never felt bored here. the streets have this rhythm, like the city's always humming under your feet.

one night, i ended up in a tiny bar where the owner played accordion and everyone sang along. someone told me that the best burek in town is sold out by 9am, so i set my alarm early. totally worth it.

i also checked out tripadvisor for a few local spots - the national museum got mixed reviews, but the ethnographic one was quieter and just as interesting. if you're into history, both are worth a look.

this place doesn't hand you a perfect itinerary. it makes you work for it. and that's exactly why i loved it.
