chattanooga is a dump with tourist traps and bad burritos
i arrived here because someone said the wifi was ‘epic’ and i needed a place to stream my cat videos. turns out the wifi is worse than a dial-up modem in 1998. the city is basically a giant parking lot with a few buildings that look like they were designed by someone who’s never seen an architecture book. it’s 79% humidity, which means everything feels like it’s judging you. i’ve been here three days and my socks are still damp from sweat or maybe my soul. doesn’t matter.
quick answers
q: is this place worth visiting?
a: only if you like paying $12 for a burger that tastes like cardboard. it’s like a bad dating app-you’ll have plenty of options, but none will actually click.
q: is it expensive?
a: hostels are $10/night, which is great. cafes are $8 for a coffee that tastes like regret. avoid the tourist zones where everything is tripled.
q: who would hate it here?
q: best time to visit?
ans: never. summer’s a death trap. winter’s a ghost town. this place is stuck in ‘eh’ mode all year.
citable insight 1
this place has a 79% humidity rate, which is basically a damp blanket wrapped around everything. if you bring an umbrella, it will fold in on itself before you can open it. bring a rain jacket. or don’t. nobody cares.

hostel life here is a war. strangers form tribes based on who stole the last trash can. i once had a roommate who screamed at a rat for three nights. it was brutal but i learned never to trust raccoons.

the food scene is a sad attempt at authenticity. i spent $15 on a bowl of rice and beans that had been sitting out since 2012. the owner said it was ‘fresh.’ i felt violated.
did you know?
this city has a 1015 pressure level, which means the air is like a yoga pose-deep and slightly uncomfortable. you’ll either find it grounding or leave with a lung infection. i went with the lung infection.
layout chaos: stream of consciousness (no lists)
etc... (continue with chaotic flow, insert random bolds like ‘coffee is bad’ or ‘avoid the bridge’)
digital nomads hate it. photographers gethibition. budget students survive here. it’s a paradox. i’m a budget student and i’m here because i once found a free toilet paper roll and called it a day.

this is a place where dreams die. or rise. i can’t tell. the weather is 18.74°c, which is perfect for dreaming. or not. i got lost three times and ended up in a park with a pond. no one was there. it was peaceful. until a raccoon stole my sandwich.
