Chandigarh's Dry Heat & Digital Dreams
so here i am in chandigarh, sweat trickling down my spine while i try to pretend this isn't affecting my coding flow. my laptop fans are screaming like they're auditioning for a metal band. i just checked and it's *29.6°C with humidity so low your skin feels like it's turning into jerky. hope you like that kind of thing.
this city's got a weird energy - like someone designed it with a ruler and then forgot to add humans to the equation. found a co-working spot near sector 17 where the chai costs more than my dignity but the wifi actually works. which is saying something.
if your brain starts melting from the heat, shimla's a short drive away. or at least that's what google says. someone told me the mountain air there costs extra but honestly? i'd pay it.
i heard that the rock garden's got sculptures made from broken bangles and bicycle parts. also that the security guard there hates photos more than my ex hates commitment.
tried exploring local spots - this cafe day place claims to have 'chandigarh's best kulchas'. which is like saying you've got the tallest dwarf in the circus. still, it hit the spot after 6 hours of debugging. found some decent grub recommendations on this chandigarh food guide, though one review swore by a dhaba that only serves on tuesdays and full moons.
someone warned me that the sukhna lake gets more crowded than a mumbai local at rush hour. also that the ducks judge your life choices.
working remotely here's been... an adventure. yesterday my laptop overheated during a zoom call, and the client thought i was having a stroke. which, fair enough. but hey, at least the power grid* hasn't collapsed yet. knock on wood. literally.
been using this co-working space directory when the cafes get too loud with locals discussing cricket like it's ancient philosophy. gotta say, the digital nomad scene here's... sparse. mostly just me and other ghosts pretending to be productive.
so yeah, that's chandigarh so far. dry, dusty, and making me question my life choices one line of code at a time. send water.
