Vienna's Cool Whisper: A Botanist's Unexpected Adventure

woke up to a cool whisper-9.18 degrees, feels like 9.18, but the air’s got that damp bite that makes you rethink your life choices. checked the pressure: 1017 hPa, like the sky’s holding its breath. humidity’s 55%, so my hair’s doing its own interpretive dance. if you get bored, budapest’s just a stone’s throw away, or prague if you’re feeling fancy. someone told me that the locals call this ‘spring’ but i’m not convinced. i heard that the coffee here tastes like liquid regret, but maybe that’s just me.

*gear list (because even botanists need tools):
- a magnifying glass (for spying on ants)
- a sketchbook (to doodle angry plants)
- a flask (for when the coffee fails)
- a map (because i keep getting lost in my own thoughts)

pro-tip: if you’re chasing wildflowers, avoid the main square at noon. someone told me that the pigeons there have formed a union.

overheard gossip: the botanical garden’s new exhibit is rumored to be haunted by a disgruntled botanist. i’m not saying i believe it, but i’m also not saying i didn’t bring extra garlic.

reviews: someone told me that the best time to visit is when the fog rolls in-it makes everything look like a moody painting. i’m not sure if that’s a good thing, but i’ll take it.

final thought*: if you’re a botanist, bring layers. if you’re not, bring layers anyway. it’s 9.18 degrees of pure, unadulterated chaos.
