veselovo wanderings: a disillusioned consultant's messy diary

i just stepped off the creaky train into veselovo and the air smelled like wet pine and cheap coffee, i just checked and it's a thin, icy breeze, hope you like that kind of thing. the neighbor towns are just a short drive away if you get bored, nearby villages are just a short drive away. someone told me that the old bakery still sells the best cinnamon rolls at sunrise, and i heard that the river walk is haunted by a friendly ghost who likes to hum lullabies.

- *weathered journal - because you never know when a scribble will become a story
-
compact umbrella - the sky has a habit of surprising you
-
portable charger - keeps the phone alive for those unexpected texts
-
local bus pass - cheap and oddly reliable

i sit on a bench and let the chill seep into my bones, wondering whether i should have taken that consulting gig that paid double but stole my sanity. the weather is a thin, icy breeze, hope you like that kind of thing, and if you get bored, nearby hamlets are just a short drive away. someone told me that the river walk is haunted by a friendly ghost who likes to hum lullabies, and i heard that the bakery still whispers recipes to those who listen closely.

i finally head back to the hostel, grab my
weathered journal*, and write down the day before the chill drives me crazy. the city feels like a half‑finished sketch, but maybe that’s the point.
