Seattle's Rainy Reality Check: A Student's Survival Guide

so i just got back from seattle and honestly? the weather's doing its usual thing-cold, wet, and moody. like, seriously moody. i checked and it's... there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. if you get bored, portland is just a short drive away, but honestly? you'll probably just end up getting soaked anyway. someone told me that the coffee here is overpriced but the views make up for it. i heard that the hostels are sketchy but the free museums are worth it. honestly, the best part is just wandering around and getting lost in the rain. the locals? they're either super chill or super grumpy. i mean, who knows? maybe they're just tired of tourists asking where the best coffee is. i stayed at this hostel called 'the brick' and it was... okay. the bathroom was gross, but the location was prime. and the grub? well, you can't beat a $5 burrito from that hole-in-the-wall place near the university. just don't ask me which one. i'm still trying to figure out if i like the city or if i just like the idea of it. maybe i'll come back when it's sunny. or maybe i'll just stay home and watch the rain from my window. either way, here's a map so you can get lost too:

and some pics because why not:

an animal swimming in a body of water

a duck standing in the middle of a frosty field

a duck floating on top of a body of water

if you're feeling adventurous, check out this link for some local events: seattle events

and if you're on a budget, this place has killer deals: yelp seattle

just don't say i didn't warn you about the rain.
