Philadelphia: 4525353 & 1840003765 – A Whirlwind, Honestly

okay, so philly. wow. just… wow. i landed here with absolutely no plan, just these two seemingly random numbers rattling around in my head - 4525353 and 1840003765. no idea where they came from, but i felt compelled to follow the vibes. and honestly? philly’s vibes are… a lot.

The weather? i just checked and it's… humid. really pushing it, hope you like that kind of thing. they're saying it's a sticky 16-something Celsius, feels way heavier though. definitely bringing a portable fan.

My room at the *Hotel Monaco (check them out on TripAdvisor - https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g303374-d604620-Reviews-Hotel_Monaco-Philadelphia_Pennsylvania.html) is… quirky. like, seriously quirky. velvet everything. i swear i saw a taxidermied badger wearing a tiny hat. it’s a bit much, but in a good way?

The people here are… interesting. they aren't unfriendly, just… direct. I heard that the best cheesesteaks are a
serious debate, and not to be taken lightly. Someone told me that if you want a truly local experience, you need to get your cheesesteak from a place without a long line. Go figure.

Spent the morning wandering around
Old City. So many cobblestone streets, which, let's be real, are a nightmare for my shoes. stumbled upon a cool little antique shop - crammed to the gills with weird stuff. Definitely worth checking out if you're into that sort of thing.

Quick Philly Survival Guide (aka My Brain Dump)

*Wear comfortable shoes. Seriously. Cobblestones are the enemy.
*Cash is king. Some smaller shops don’t take cards.
*Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. Locals are usually happy to share.
*Check out Reading Terminal Market. Food heaven! (Seriously, go. - check out https://www.readingterminalmarket.com/)
*Be aware of your surroundings. It's a city, be smart.

I'm trying to get a feel for the street art scene. I saw a mural near
South Street that was incredible - huge, colorful, and just… alive. It definitely gave me a sense of the city’s spirit.

Later, i walked along the
Delaware River Waterfront. surprisingly chill. saw a bunch of boats, people biking, just a nice, relaxed vibe. someone mentioned that the best time to visit is during the fall - the leaves are apparently spectacular.

I’m thinking of checking out a show at
The Fillmore Philadelphia (check their schedule here: https://www.thefillmorephilly.com/events/). Might be a good way to experience the city’s music scene. Also, supposedly the cheesesteaks at Pat's & Geno's* are legendary… but i'm a little intimidated by the whole rivalry.

This city is a mess, a beautiful, chaotic mess. I’m loving it. Feeling inspired… and slightly caffeinated.
