angra dos reis - where the sun's hot but the breeze is hotter
so i landed in angra dos reis after a bumpy bus ride from rio and immediately felt the humidity hit me like a wet blanket. the weather was...27.85°C, feels like 29.13°C, which basically means you’re sweating before you even unpack. i just checked and it's...still there right now, hope you like that kind of thing.
angra dos reis is this little coastal town in brazil that nobody really talks about unless you're into island-hopping and seafood. i heard that the best caipirinhas are at a place called *bar do zé - some drunk guy on the ferry told me that, so it must be true. he also said the sunset at praia do dentista is worth getting lost for, and honestly, i didn't regret it.
if you get bored, paraty and rio de janeiro are just a short drive away, but why would you leave when the islands here look like they belong on a postcard?

pro-tip: bring cash. the boat captains don't take cards, and the ATMs in town are as reliable as my ex's apologies.
if you're into snorkeling, ilha grande is a short boat ride away and apparently has clearer water than my future. someone told me that the fish there are so colorful they look photoshopped. i didn't see any, but i also didn't look very hard because i was too busy eating pastel de camarão from a beach vendor.
random advice:* wear sunscreen. the brazilian sun doesn't mess around, and neither do the mosquitoes after dark.
