Asunción street art diaries
i just checked and it's breezy there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. stepping out of the hostel i felt the humid air slap my skin like fresh spray on a fresh wall. *murales everywhere, each one screaming a story i can't quite tag yet. the café on the corner smells like burnt sugar and diesel, weird combo but oddly comforting. someone told me that the old bakery on calle 9 still serves the best empanadas at dawn, but i haven't dared to chase that rumor yet. if you get bored, the nearby towns are just a short drive away. the pavimento cracks echo like a broken beat, perfect backdrop for a quick sketch. i heard that the riverfront gets lit up after midnight, neon reflections dancing on the water, perfect for a night shot. here's a quick map so you can find the spots i'm chasing:also snagged a couple of shots from unsplash:
didn't get to try the local crew's night market but the chatter on the board says the tacos are fire. check out these spots on TripAdvisor Asunción guide and Yelp local eats and the street art board Graff Board for more hidden gems. someone whispered that the rooftop bar on avenida 12 has a killer view of the sunset, but i’m still hunting for the perfect angle. hope this messy scroll helps you plan your own graffiti pilgrimage*.
