What the hell happened in Kakinada? A sweaty, humid confession

okay, so i landed in this place called kakinada and immediately thought...what am i doing here? the air was so thick i could’ve cut it with a butter knife. someone told me that kakinada is the 'fertilizer capital of india' but all i could smell was humidity and something vaguely like fried fish. i just checked and it's 22.35°c there right now, hope you like that kind of thing.

i wandered around the beach road like a lost puppy, sweat pooling in places i didn't know existed. the locals gave me the 'you're not from here' look, which i guess is fair since i was wearing sneakers and a hoodie in 96% humidity. if you get bored, vishakhapatnam and rajahmundry are just a short drive away. but honestly, kakinada has its own weird charm.

overheard a drunk guy at a tea stall say, 'the best biryani is at that place near the old bus stand.' so i went. it was...fine. not life-changing, but fine. someone else whispered that the sunset at Uppada Beach is 'worth the mosquito bites.' i believed them, got bitten, and still think they were right.

random thoughts: the pressure here is 1012 hPa, which sounds like a lot until you realize your head feels like it's in a vice. the humidity is 96%, which means your shirt will never be dry again. ever. also, the sea level is 1012, whatever that means. i'm just here for the vibes and the questionable street food.

if you want to read more about this sweaty adventure, check out TripAdvisor's Kakinada page or maybe Yelp for some local eats. or don't. i'm not your mom.
