Macarena, Spain: Where the Streets Have Stories

so i found myself in macarena, spain, not knowing what to expect. the numbers 3690577 and 1170420071 kept popping up in my notes, but honestly, i have no idea what they mean. maybe they're coordinates? or maybe they're just random numbers that my sleep-deprived brain decided to keep. anyway, the weather was a toasty 27.7°c, but it felt more like 31.92°c. the humidity was at 84%, so it was basically a sauna out there. i just checked and it's...there right now, hope you like that kind of thing.

i wandered the streets, trying to find some sense of direction. the locals were friendly, but they spoke so fast that i could barely understand them. i heard that the best tapas in town are at *bar el rinconcito. someone told me that the owner, a guy named manolo, makes the best patatas bravas in the entire region. i didn't try them, but i'm taking their word for it.

if you get bored,
seville and cordoba are just a short drive away. i heard that the cathedral in seville is worth a visit, but i didn't make it there. maybe next time. i did manage to find a little park where i sat and watched the world go by. it was peaceful, and i felt like i was the only tourist there.

one thing i noticed about macarena is that it's not a place for luxury. it's a place for authenticity. the buildings are old, the streets are narrow, and the air smells like a mix of jasmine and something else i can't quite place. it's the kind of place where you can get lost and find yourself at the same time.

i also stumbled upon a little
tienda* that sold handmade ceramics. the owner, a woman named isabel, was so passionate about her work. she told me that each piece she makes tells a story. i bought a small bowl, and now it sits on my shelf, reminding me of macarena.

i think that's the beauty of travel. it's not about the perfect itinerary or the most instagrammable spots. it's about the stories you collect along the way. and macarena, with all its quirks and charms, gave me a story i'll never forget.
