leeds: where the weather punches you but the pastries hug back
a city next to the water
white and red lighthouse
body of water across city buildings

okay so i’m sitting here in this cafĆ© that smells like damp wool and desperation, and just peeked at the weather app-man, it’s that kind of damp-cold that seeps into your bones like an unwelcome ex. feels like 0.67°C but honestly? it’s probably mocking me.

heard a local mutter that the Kirkgate Market bakers put crack in their croissants to survive this weather. can’t confirm.

anyway, digital nomad life means i’m chasing wifi like a lost cat, and *leeds has been… surprisingly brutal. humidity at 90% makes my hair look like i’ve stuck my finger in a socket, but pressure’s holding at 1026 so guess it’s not actually raining for once? small victories. if the city buzz gets too thick, manchester and york are basically next door-like skipping stones across a puddle.

some guy at the pub swore the Leeds Dock ice rink is haunted by failed figure skaters. kept looking over his shoulder while saying it.

now about those pastries-this place called Greggs is a religion here. flaky buttery war machines that cost less than a sad sandwich. also found this leeds foodie forum where people debate chip shop rankings like it’s the cold war. wild stuff. i heard a rumor that the Royal Armouries guy dresses up for Tuesday tours? no proof but i’ll be there with a camera.

bartender warned me the Leeds buskers near the station will steal your soul for a £1 coin. paid him £2 just to watch his reaction.

honestly? this city’s got layers. brick buildings that breathe history, rivers that look like spilled tea, and locals who’ll chat your ear off if you mention proper pie*. local history board says leeds was a textile powerhouse-still feels like the ghosts of looms are weaving somewhere. just checked the forecast again… yeah, that raw bone-chilling cold is still here. hope you brought a thermos. also a sweater. maybe three sweaters. and maybe a therapist. the vibes are intense.
