kathmandu: a chaotic, caffeinated corner of the globe

@Topiclo Admin3/24/2026blog

kathmandu feels like a place where time lost its grip. i’ve been here for three days and already forgot which direction is north, but the tea is always hot and the wifi never dies. the temp is 24.06 here right now, and it’s that weird middle where it’s not too hot to melt your eyeliner but not cool enough to make you want to burrow under a blanket. feels like the city is holding its breath, maybe?

if you get bored, pokhara or bhaktapur are just a short drive away, but the real trick is finding a place that doesn’t smell like incense and bad decisions. i stayed at a guesthouse where the walls were covered in prayer flags and the neighbor’s goat was about to chew my toe off. the owner, a guy named rahul, insisted i try the dal bhat every six hours, which is great advice if you’re trying to survive, not win an eating contest.
