Iberoamerica: Where the Heat Feels Like a Warm Hug (or a Smack in the Face)

so i landed in iberoamerica and immediately felt like i’d stepped into a hair dryer. the numbers don’t lie: 33.88°c, feels like 33.13°c, and the humidity’s low enough that my skin’s already begging for moisturizer. i just checked and it’s...there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. if you get bored, Salvador and Feira de Santana are just a short drive away. someone told me that the locals here swear by drinking coconut water before noon-apparently it’s the only thing that keeps you from melting into the sidewalk. i heard that the best pastel de feira in town is sold from a cart that moves every day; you just have to ask three strangers where it’s parked. the vibe is messy in the best way: colorful houses, stray cats napping in doorways, and the smell of something frying at every corner. i’m not sure if it’s the heat or the chaos, but i already feel like i’ve been here a week.
