curitiba vibes: a chaotic coffee-fueled ramble

curitiba’s been a weird one. i rolled in with no plan, just a backpack and a half-charged phone, and somehow it worked out. the city’s got this quiet hum-not sleepy, but like it’s thinking about something important. maybe it’s the weather. i just checked and it’s 22°c there right now, feels like 21.95°c, and the humidity’s sitting at 65%. not too hot, not too cold-just enough to make you want to sit outside with a coffee and people-watch for hours.

i heard that the botanic garden is where all the locals go to pretend they’re in a movie scene. someone told me that if you go early enough, you’ll see tai chi groups moving like slow-motion ninjas. i didn’t make it that early, but i did catch a guy doing yoga on a bench, which counts.

food here? messy in the best way. i stumbled into a tiny spot called *madero because the line was out the door. turns out it’s famous for burgers that make you question your life choices. someone said the truffle fries are a trap, but i fell for it anyway. worth it.

if you get bored, são paulo and joinville are just a short drive away. but honestly, curitiba’s got enough going on to keep you busy-street art, flea markets, and a weird obsession with pine nuts that i still don’t understand.

the coffee scene here is no joke. i hit up
café do museu because a barista with a sleeve of tattoos told me it was the only place worth drinking before noon. he was right. the espresso had this nutty aftertaste that stuck around like a good conversation.

i overheard a group of old guys at the next table arguing about whether curitiba’s bus system is the best in brazil or just the most confusing. they ended up betting on it. i didn’t stick around for the result, but i’m rooting for the confused guy.

random tip: if you’re into vintage clothes,
feira do largo da ordem* on sundays is a goldmine. i found a denim jacket that smelled like someone’s grandpa but looked like it belonged in a 90s music video. win.

curitiba doesn’t shout about itself. it just exists, quietly cool, like that friend who never posts on social media but always has the best stories. i’ll be back-probably for the coffee, maybe for the pine nuts, definitely for the vibe.
