buenos aires vibes: tango, steak, and a whole lotta chaos
so here i am in buenos aires, the city that never sleeps-or at least never stops dancing. i just checked and it's 26.32°c there right now, feels like 26.32°c, hope you like that kind of thing. humidity's at 57%, so yeah, it's sticky but not unbearable. perfect weather for getting lost in the streets and pretending you know where you're going.
first thing i noticed? the graffiti. it's everywhere. not just tags, but full-on murals that make you stop and stare. i overheard some drunk guy at a bar saying, "if you think this is art, wait till you see what they do at night." i have no idea what he meant, but i'm intrigued.
and the food? don't even get me started. i had a steak last night that was so big it needed its own zip code. someone told me that bife de chorizo here is the best in the world, and honestly, i believe them. but if you're vegan, good luck-this city is a carnivore's paradise.
if you get bored, montevideo and santiago are just a short drive away, but honestly, why would you? buenos aires has enough chaos to keep you entertained for weeks. i heard from a local that the best way to experience the city is to just wander. "get lost," she said, "that's when the magic happens."
and the people? they're something else. passionate, loud, and always ready to argue about politics or football. i met a guy who swore that the best empanadas in the city are at this tiny hole-in-the-wall place in san telmo. he was so convincing, i went there the next day. they were good, but i'm still not sure if he was just messing with me.
"if you're not dancing by midnight, you're doing it wrong."
speaking of dancing, tango is everywhere. i tried a lesson once, and let's just say i'm better at eating steak than dancing. but hey, it's all part of the experience, right?

anyway, that's my messy take on buenos aires. it's chaotic, it's loud, and it's absolutely worth every second. just don't expect to leave without a few extra pounds and a lot of stories.
