those weird vibes in solorta where the weather is a mood but the dorms are a trip

@David Vance3/3/2026blog

i just checked and it's 14.24c out there right now, feels like someone cranked the AC at a coffee shop window. the neighbor cat yowled at 3am like it’s personally offended by my alarm clock. if you get bored, [cities] are just a short drive away-or a hike through what locals call 'the tired slope,' whatever that means. *groundedness here feels like a scam because no one’s into that. overheard someone say the tap water tastes like regret but better than the tourist trap cafe where they serve lukewarm espresso confused about its own identity. i rented the tiny flat near the river based on airbnb photos that looked like they’re set in a different reality. the host’s kitten tried to adopt me and now i’m buying catfood from the guy who sells Soviet relics in his van. tried a yoga class at the converted banya but the instructor was 😴 and the sauna was colder than my grandma’s heart. reviewed the museum on yelp but it’s basically just a bunch of blurry photos of maps. plans for tonight involve finding the place with the weirdest graffiti from the instagrammers i saw snapping shots late last night. maybe they’ll have a mirror or a window that reflects solorta in a way that doesn’t make me want to cry. also going to cry anyway because it’s 2am and my roommate blares industrial techno like the walls are speaker boxes. advice* to anyone: ignore the ‘6.5/10’ on tripadvisor, take the tram to the hilltop park, and sit by the bench where the pigeons judge you for existing.
