Hyderabad: Concrete Canvas and Curry Dreams

so yeah, hyderabad. landed yesterday with a aerosol bag heavier than my dignity. walls here are screaming for color, man. real talk - the city’s got this weird energy where old forts and cyber cafes share the same breath. like walking through a time warp with 5G.

i just checked the weather and it’s… that heavy blanket of 25°C that clings to your clothes like a regret. humidity’s at 45%, which means my paint’s drying slower than my motivation. good for blending, bad for deadlines. also heard the air pressure’s wonky today - locals call it “pressure soup”. whatever that means.

“charminar’s got eyes, you know. sees everything. better not tag her without permission.”

the vibe’s… electric. found this back alley near begum bazaar where walls breathe history. layers of paint and posters like archeological layers. some kid told me the cops cracked down last month, but now it’s like a silent agreement - don’t tag religious sites or government buildings, otherwise the concrete’s your canvas. fair enough.

if you need a break from the grind, secunderabad’s just a rickshaw ride away. or warangal if you’re feeling adventurous. personally? i’m stuck here till my next gig in mumbai. these walls won’t paint themselves.

someone told me about this hidden tunnel near the railway station - abandoned since the 90s. apparently it’s a gallery now at night. risky though. heard the guard’s got a vendetta against spray cans. or maybe he’s just a hater. either way, bribing him with biryani worked yesterday. haleem, actually. local stuff’s wild. check out Golkonda Biryani House if you wanna taste heaven in a bowl.

“yo, the humidity’s making my stencil curl up like a dead shrimp. bring primer or pray to the paint gods.”

found this sick art supply shop near charminar that stocks illegal euro paints. shady but worth it. owner’s got a mustache that could store secrets. told me the police raided last month, but he’s got… connections. also scored cheap coffee at Filter Coffee House - their beans taste like burnt caramel and rebellion.

“that tunnel? dude, the walls bleed stories. just don’t touch the red section. bad juju.”

tonight’s mission: the secret tunnel. heard it’s got a mural of the goddess durga holding a spray can. iconic. if i get caught, i’m blaming the humidity. or my nonexistent career choices. either way, Hyderabad Art Forum says they’ve got bail money for members. worth the membership fee, honestly.
