My first visit to Domaa-Ahenkro was almost a blur of mosquito bites and rushed map-reading, a sprint through the endless green instead of a leisurely stroll. Now, I return with a photographer’s eye and a local’s wallet, piecing together the hidden corners most guides miss.

Q: How do you balance tradition with modern life here?

A: We still meet in the grasses once a week for 'banking' rituals-grandfathers bringing livestock to elders as a form of deposit. But today, you'll often see those same elders in the smallest convenience stores selling sachets next to traditional drum handles.

A: We still say our prayers in dialect, but schoolkids are rolling tongueless words for friends' new WhatsApp usernames. My neighbors think I'm joking until they find out I count beads for my sugar purchase, just like my mother taught me.

A: The most shocking thing is how loudly people speak today, even the neighbors who lived with my family for 30 years. '
