buenos-aires wanderings: drunken tips and hidden cafes

@Mason Grey3/1/2026blog

i just checked and it's a crisp breeze, there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. the streets smell of fresh *asado and a hint of candombe drifting from a corner bandoneĂłn player. i wandered past the historic plaza, where a tango dancer was rehearsing in the shadows. parrilla aromas swirl around the cobblestones, and a lone milonga flyer sticks to a lamppost. someone told me that the hidden cafĂ© on the corner serves the strongest espresso you’ll ever taste, keep an eye on your wallet though because pickpockets love the rush hour crowd. if you get antsy, the next city is just a hop away. tango beats echo through the night, café* lights flicker, and the city hums.
