Kraków on a Budget: Surviving the Chill and the Coffee Snobs

so i just checked and it's...there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. 3.3 feels like, with a high of 6.54 and low of 5.86. pressure's at 1024, humidity's clinging like a cheap souvenir. if you get bored, warsaw or katowice are just a short drive away, but honestly, why leave when you've got this? someone told me that the local coffee is overpriced, but i heard it's actually decent if you know where to look. i heard that too, but then again, i also heard that the best pierogi are at that hole-in-the-wall place nobody mentions. i'm not sure who to trust anymore.

*here's the thing: you're going to need layers. like, seriously. i mean, i packed one sweater and now i'm regretting it. but hey, that's part of the adventure, right?

gear list:
- one sweater (maybe two if you're smart)
- waterproof jacket (because the humidity will make you feel like you're swimming)
- comfortable shoes (you'll be walking more than you planned)
- a sense of humor (because nothing goes as planned)

pro tip: if you're looking for cheap eats, avoid the main square. someone told me that the best place is hidden down a side street, but i also heard that the locals avoid it because it's too touristy. i tried it anyway and it was okay.

overheard gossip: the hostel i'm staying at has a reputation for being...let's say, lively. someone told me that the owner once chased a guest out with a broom. i'm not sure if that's true, but it makes for a good story.
