a chaotic day in vienna as a digital nomad weather wise and coffee sloshed

i just checked the weather app on my phone - it’s that weird 17.8°c kind of mess where you reach for a jacket but your fingers keep typing. feels like a broken oven setting, you know? humidity’s at 48%, which sounds fancy but means every sip of coffee tastes like lukewarm regret. tried the trendy TUCUMCUMBAH café for the fourth time this month. the barista in neon socks told me their oat milk was audited by a blockchain consultant last week. not sure if that’s a selling point but hey, the wifi’s stable enough to attend my 9am zoom meeting. *Pro tip: avoid the tourist traps like Stephansplatz. go where the street performers‘ guitars whine about biodegradable gluten-free freedom. overheard a drunk guy at the corner store ranting about ’Polish plumbers in Kolkwitzstraße’ - didn’t check if he was right. locals here stare if you ask where the ’real beef’ is. like they’d trust a tourist to know bratwurst from… well, whatever that is. tried the underground’S machine for the most authentic espresso. No luck. pressure’s 1025hPa which basically means the barista swapped our bean scale for a scandal sheet. saw a guy dressed like a melted candle near the meters. wonder if he’s a spacer or just bad at Layer 3 VLANs. tried to work at Kafe Lendler but their Wi-Fi cuts out when someone nearby logs into their Fantasy Football. god bless the 24-hour Tesco Lidl down the road. they got instant coffee that’s somehow better than 80% of artisanal brews. walked past the Danube’s edge. If you get bored, Bratislava’ s beats are just a short drive - but don’t trust their tram system. heard from three people they shut down at 11pm. map

a couple arguing near a café

next up: the flea market by the zoo where old monks sell cursed incense. locals say it’s haunted but the Wi-Fi’s free. trust me, the ghosts prefer 5G.*
