Prague: A Symphony of Static & Whispers

okay, so i just got back from prague. and honestly? it's a weird one. the air is thick with the smell of roasting chestnuts and something vaguely metallic, like old coins. i just checked and it's… overcast, a sort of bruised purple kind of gray. hope you like that kind of thing. it makes everything feel a little… melancholy.

i’m still processing everything. the city is a maze of cobblestone streets, each turn revealing a new building, a new story. i spent most of my time wandering, just letting the city guide me. the river *Vltava is… relentless. it just keeps flowing, carrying centuries of history with it. seriously, every bridge feels like it's been waiting for someone just like me.

i heard that the best Trdelník (that sweet pastry thing) is near Old Town Square. Someone told me that the stall with the loudest music is the one to go for - it’s touristy, sure, but the lines are surprisingly short. I’m almost positive that is something a local warned me about.

Overheard Gossip: ”Don’t take the trams after midnight. There’s a certain… energy to them.” That’s what a street performer I chatted with near Charles Bridge told me. He was playing a ridiculously amplified accordion, and frankly, the noise was enough to give me a headache. But the stories he was weaving into the music… yeah, that's Prague for you.

I even managed to score some decent street food - a hearty goulash that warmed me from the inside out. It was amazing. i just checked and the Yelp reviews are overwhelmingly positive! Must try: Havelska Koruna. I heard that someone told me that the dumplings are the best in the city. I’ll confirm that with a photo later. I need to grab some Pilsner Urquell because it feels fitting for the occasion.

Someone told me that there’s a secret little courtyard tucked away behind the Jewish Quarter - a place where you can find peace and quiet amidst all the hustle and bustle. It’s supposedly a good spot to escape and just… breathe.

if you get bored, Brno is just a short drive away. And Olomouc isn't too far either. i should probably head back to the apartment I booked on AirBnB - it's a tiny room, but it has a view of the Petřín Hill*. it’s a little bit cramped, but it's characterful.
