Porto Alegre: Rainy Days and Hot Nights

it's 2am and i'm staring at a screen trying to make sense of this humid, restless city. the numbers 3463859 and 1076924823 keep flashing in my head like some cryptic code i'm not supposed to crack. but here's what i do know: it's 29.51°c right now, feels like 31.41°c, and the humidity is sitting at 57%. basically, it's the kind of weather that makes your shirt stick to your back before you even leave the hotel. i just checked and it's muggy and warm there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. if you get bored, canoas and esteio are just a short drive away, though honestly, i'd rather stay here and soak up the chaos. someone told me that the locals here don't trust anyone who doesn't drink chimarrão, so maybe that's a good place to start. i heard that the best street food is sold by guys with no permits, just a grill and a dream. and if you're into architecture, the moinhos de vento neighborhood is apparently where the hipsters hide. i'm not even sure what i'm doing here, but that's kind of the point. sometimes you just need to get lost in a city that doesn't care if you find your way back. here's a map to help you pretend you know where you're going:
