misthaven: where the humidity is part of the adventure

okay, so i ended up in misthaven. totally unplanned, which is the best kind. i was chasing a light, you know, that perfect hour before sunset when everything glows. but then the fog rolled in, thick as pea soup, and here i am.

i just looked outside and it’s 22.26 degrees but feels like 23. you know, the kind of weather that makes you want to stay indoors but also go out and explore. the humidity is 94%, which means my camera lens keeps fogging up. gotta love it.

"the locals here are... something else. heard they paint murals at midnight. bring a flashlight if you wanna catch em"

the street art scene here? wild. i’ve been shooting everything: the way the light filters through the mist, the reflections on the wet pavement, the faces of people going about their day. it’s challenging, but that’s what i love.

if you run out of things to do, you can always hop in a car and check out the next town over in about an hour. they’ve got a hot spring that’s supposed to be healing.

"that noodle spot by the river? chef’s got a temper and a wok that’s seen better days. but the broth... man. it’s worth it"

oh, and the food? i had this noodle soup last night, and it was so spicy it made my ears ring. but in a good way. the chef told me it’s a family recipe.

here’s a tip: bring a microfiber cloth. you’ll be wiping your lens every five minutes. and maybe a rain cover for your camera. the weather is unpredictable.

i’ve been using the Misthaven Travel Guide to find hidden gems, and the Best Cafes in Misthaven list helped me find that tea place. there’s also a Misthaven Local Board where people post about events and stuff.

"someone warned me about the market on tuesdays. said it’s ā€˜organized chaos’ but also where you’ll find the best handmade paper. fair warning: bring cash"

so yeah, that’s misthaven. a little foggy, a little humid, but full of surprises.

i found this little spot by the river at dawn. no one else was there. just me, the fog, and the water. i got some shots that i’m actually really proud of.

the humidity’s a trip. makes everything feel alive. like the air’s breathing with you.

let me know if you’ve been there. i’m always looking for new spots to shoot.
