lost in the heat of nowhere: a sweaty detour
i never meant to end up here. it just happened after a bad bus connection and a misread map. the coordinates say -10.5078, -39.0139, which sounds like the middle of nowhere, but turns out it’s actually a tiny dot on the map with a weird charm. the air is thick, like someone turned on a humidifier and forgot to turn it off. 21.1°c feels more like 31 with the humidity pushing 81%. walking around feels like swimming through soup. the sky is overcast, but the heat still sneaks through. i’m sweating through my shirt and wondering if i’ll ever be dry again.
i just checked and it’s a muggy 21.1°c there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. if you get bored, salvador and feira de santana are just a short drive away. someone told me that the local bakery is the only place with decent coffee, but i heard that the wifi is a lie. i’m not sure if i believe it, but i’m still standing in line for a pastel and an espresso that tastes like burnt toast.
