Digital Nomad Diaries: Surviving the Chill in D.C. (With a Side of Coffee Drama)

i just checked and it's... brrr, hope you packed your parka. seriously, -1.36°C feels like a slap in the face. i'm huddled over my laptop, trying to ignore the draft sneaking under the door of my Airbnb. the forecast says it'll hit a high of -0.2°C today. chills. if you get bored, baltimore's just a quick metro ride away. someone told me that. i heard that. i heard the coffee here is legendary, but others say it's overpriced. i'm here to find out.

*digital nomad survival kit (because i'm clearly failing):
- a thermal mug that survived my last arctic expedition
- a blanket that doubles as a fashion statement
- a backup power bank because my laptop battery hates cold
- a map of d.c. because google maps is useless when your fingers are numb

gear list:
- thermal leggings (non-negotiable)
- a scarf that doubles as a face mask
- hand warmers (life savers)
- a portable charger (see above)
- a notebook because staring at screens in the cold is soul-crushing

packing for d.c. was a nightmare. i ended up with more layers than a russian nesting doll. but hey, the city's got character. just don't expect it to be warm. unless you count the heated seats in my car. which i do. a lot.
